The Whole World in a Chickenrun

One can almost believe this when looking at these animal caricatures.

Christel Benz unmasks and shows the faults and human weakness disguised in a feather dress. A lot seem too human, as in “The Pompous Ones”, which show a series of affected exaggerated roosters in suits, or a funeral series with a wake and reading of the will, and the smug trio of “plucked” chickens at the inland revenue. Who wouldn`t think: these are scenes from real life! With the humorous and affectionate mockery of her brush the artist and painter brings broad smiles to our faces with the animal/human comparisons, which we have known since the time of the ancient Egyptians.

It`s astounding, how in these examples, the human characteristics are transported into the hens`s faces.
